A male sociology professor has a lengthy conversation with a new colleague, a fresh graduate, to discuss her PhD topic. After both come out of his office and into the office next to it, a male research assistant comments suggestively that they took a very long time. The professor responds with a gesture suggesting the wiping away of sperm around the mouth. The new colleague remains silent and seems confused about what is happening here. Another female colleague angrily storms out of the office and starts crying in front of the door. I walk out of the office with the new colleague, too, and we talk about what has happened. The colleague who stormed out before says that she has had these kinds of situations often enough with the professor and his male research assistant.
